The STS-K9 is Sioen Balistics' latest generation canine bulletproof vest, developed in collaboration with intervention units. This vest is based on extensive feedback from French and foreign dog handlers. It sets a new standard for the protection of dogs assigned to risky missions.
Whether it's for its protection, flexibility, or ergonomics, the STS-K9 is a unique product. It offers bulletproof and stab-proof protection at different levels while maximizing the animal's mobility and comfort.
Benefiting from the latest advancements in ballistics, this vest offers 270° protection (back, belly, and flanks), thus protecting vital organs. It is quick to put on and adjustable to the animal's size thanks to spacers. In terms of materials, the vest is mainly made of mesh for maximum ventilation, Cordura for friction-prone areas, and elastic parts to make the vest more comfortable.
This harness features various carrying points, allowing the operator to attach a leash to the front or back, perform rappelling missions, and carry the dog on their back or at arm's length. The three straps go around the animal to distribute traction over a wide and comfortable surface for the dog, and are then fastened with Cobra Austrialpin buckles. Two adjustable carrying straps are included.
For missions involving a river or maritime component, the flotation pack compensates for the vest's weight if the dog falls into the water. This pack also provides additional over-protection for the animal by acting as an additional anti-trauma pack (absorbing the back deformation of ballistic packs in case of ammunition impact).
This harness is manufactured with fire-retardant materials.
